    The warning took effect at 6 p.m. It is for a small section of Monterey County along Highway 1. The area is bounded on the north by Castro Canyon and on the south by Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. On the east the boundary is North Coast Ridge Road and on the west the boundary is Highway 1. Fire managers issued the warning because of an expected increase of wind associated with a passing weather front.
