    Montebello police are looking for a known Santeria priest who has been accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl during what he said was a healing ritual. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that 46-year-old Pablo Pinto Mata is suspected of assaulting the teen when she went to his business in 2013.

    The leader of the state Senate announced Friday that his legislative body will not appeal a Sacramento Superior Court judge's order to turn over key calendar information for two suspended senators, saying he supports the ruling on a lawsuit filed by Bay Area News Group, publisher of this newspaper, and Los Angeles News Group. In his landmark ruling, Judge Michael Kenny wrote that the public's interest in viewing records kept by suspended Sens. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, and Ron Calderon, D-Montebello, outweighed the Senate's interest in keeping the records quiet.

    The state Senate must turn over key calendar information for two suspended senators, a Sacramento Superior Court Judge ruled Wednesday, upholding a lawsuit filed by the Bay Area News Group and the Los Angeles News Group. Following up on a tentative ruling issued last month, Judge Michael Kenny wrote that the public's interest in seeing the records kept by Sen Leland Yee, D-San Francisco and Sen. Ron Calderon, D-Montebello -- both of whom are facing criminal prosecution -- outweighed the Senate's interest in keeping the records private.
