    Monroeville Mall executives today announced plans to install a new set of security cameras that will monitor a larger section of the shopping center, the latest in a set of changes following several violent crimes there earlier this year and late last year. Lance Ivy, regional director of CBL & Associates Properties Inc., the company that owns the mall, said at a morning news conference that his company plans to install a "state-of-the-art" security system that places cameras inside the mall common areas and outside the mall.

While a media representative for CB&I did not response to queries, Barry Layton , general manager of Penn Center East, confirmed the company is taking two floors in building five at the mixed-use complex in Wilkins Township.

Council voted unanimously to have Cohen Law Group and Carlson, Lynch, Sweet and Kilpela LLP, both of Pittsburgh, represent the municipality in a class action claim against Verizon, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, for what Monroeville says is Verizon's failure to pay certain franchise fees owed to the municipality.
