    Levincesky Rheim Phifer, James Earl Ray Fields Jr., and Deon Montreal Fields are now in custody in reference to two burglaries that occurred on December 11, 2014. During the early morning hours of December 11, 2014, the suspects broke into 'Cars, Cars, Cars' on LA Highway 33 and took items from within the shop as well as outside of the shop.

    As part of the Louisiana Board of Regents Research and Development Program, Dr. Srinivas Garlapati, an assistant professor of biology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was granted $56,350 to study alternative treatments for giardiasis-a parasitic intestinal infection found in streams, lakes, pools, spas, and wells. According to Garlapati, the parasite infects up to 20 percent of the world's population, and is the most common intestinal parasitic disease and major cause of waterborne outbreak of diarrhea in the United States.

    The painting began early last week on the wall and each day volunteers with Arrow Public Art come out to fill in the traced drawings with bright, colorful paint by turning gray cement and stone into a work of art and something the people of this area can be proud of. The project started with Brooke Foy the founder of Arrow Public Art She contacted the Board of Education, teachers and students to get drawings and ideas.

    The new equipment includes a wireless heart monitoring system to track a mother and baby's heart rate, a special camera to treat premature babies who are at risk of blindness, and an AccuVane machine that allows doctors and nurses to more accurately find a patient's veins. The cost for the hospital is a combined $200,000 which has been raised through the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation, Brookshire's Grocery Company and other private donors.
