    A man with an active arrest warrant who was seen walking on Walnut Street pulling two suitcases was arrested on March 9. Monroe Police received the report of a suspicious person walking on Walnut Street at around 4 p.m. When officers arrived, police recognized the man due to his extensive arrest history and were aware than an arrest warrant was pending for the man at Bridgeport Superior Court. According to police, the suitcases Russo was pulling contained pieces of cut copper piping, plumbing parts, two gaming stations, a large bolt cutter and a piece of mail addressed to a home on Old Tannery Road, approximately half a mile from where Russo was located.

During the three-week trial, Senior Assistant State's Attorney Howard Stein presented evidence indicating that Azevedo, with the help of Diniz Depina , of Bridgeport, set fire to her $1.4 million home on Hunter Ridge Road on Jan. 28, 2008.
