    A Monroe man who skimmed $275,000 while serving as a property manager for a company that owned and rented apartments and homes in Bridgeport was sentenced to five months in a halfway house and fined $18,000. The sentence imposed on Anthony Testo , 67, and his company ACT Builders Inc., comes on top of the $275,000 he agreed to make in restitution to the buildings' owner and $71,795-plus in yet to be determined penalties and interest to the IRS in taxes on unreported income.

    The United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut announced that ANTHONY TESTO, 67, of Monroe, and his company, ACT Builders, Inc., were sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny in Hartford for defrauding a Bridgeport-based residential property owner. TESTO was ordered to serve five months in community confinement , followed by three years of supervised release, the first six months of which must be served in home confinement.

Hufziger combined with Eliza Eggleston, Amanda Mele, and Amy Martinelli to set both a team and SWC meet record in the 200 yard freestyle relay event, finishing in a time of 1:40.30. Sparked by a record-setting performance by its 200 yard freestyle relay team, Newtown High School's girls' swimming and diving team placed second in the South-West Conference championships, which wrapped up with swimming events at Masuk High in Monroe on November 1. Perennial powerhouse Pomperaug of Southbury won the competition with 581 points.
