Joe Zemen, a member of Boy Scout Troop 155 from Manhattan, led fellow scouts A.J. Minnetti, Senior Patrol Leader from Troop 155, Zach MacNab, of Homer Glen and a scout from Troop 49 in Lemont, PCHS students Matthew Troy, of Homer Glen, and Mitch Sharkey, of Mokena, and PCHS varsity football players Jimmy Sharkey, of Mokena; Justin Chmura and Nick Barker, both of Tinley Park; Mike Szot, of Orland Park; Nate Vejvoda, Matt MacNab, Kyle Troy and Kevin Troy, all of Homer Glen. After passing in the Illinois Senate, SB16 - The School Funding Reform Act of 2014, is currently under review in the Illinois House of Representatives, and may be brought for a vote in November. SB16 would significantly change the current education funding formula, and as written, would have a devastating impact on many suburban school districts. Comment?
The Lincoln-Way Education Association welcomes all Lincoln-Way Community members to meet and hear Republican 37th District House Candidate Margo McDermed and Democratic 37th District House Candidate Nichole Serbin discuss important issues facing their legislative district as they compete for the open assembly seat in the upcoming November 4 elections.
