Tickets and flyers for the 'Circus Pages' circus at the Creekside Golf Dome in Girard have been out at area businesses and restaurants for weeks.

    The prospect of not having a job will become a harsh reality in a couple of months for 214 people who have been helping Ohioans with disabilities get through life each day. The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities has notified the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services that it plans to close the Youngstown Developmental Center in Mineral Ridge, and the Montgomery Developmental Center in Huber Heights, Ohio on June 30. According to a notice issued under the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, 111 jobs at the Youngstown center and 103 jobs at the Montgomery center are being abolished.

    Mineral Ridge High school was placed on lockdown Tuesday evening during a boys' varsity basketball game, while police investigated a deadly shooting less than a mile away. Weathersfield Police Chief Mike Naples tells 21 News crews on the scene that a 911 call in shortly after 7 p.m. that there was a shooting on the 3500 block of State Route 46, also known as S. Main Street.

Forty-five-year-old Matthew K. Blair was indicted Thursday by the Mahoning County Grand Jury on charges of intercepting wire or electronic communications, possessing criminal tools, and voyeurism.

    Instead of closing all six I-80 ramps between State Route 46 and Belmont Avenue Monday as originally announced, the Ohio Department Of Transportation has closed only two so far, the ramp off State Route 422 onto 80 and the ramp off State Route 46 onto 80. "A lot of these ramp closures are closing due to unsafe merge conditions that would happen if we had to leave them open," said Justin Chesnic from ODOT. "So, in essence, we are just moving some traffic over and closing down some ramps to make it safer for drivers out there.

    According to a police report, Maurice Willis, 47, was driving just before 6 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Brookwood and Glenwood avenues in Boardman, when he struck the back of a woman's PT Cruiser. The driver of that car, Candy Martin, was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with non life-threatening injuries.

    The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking for donations of non-perishable food items to help "Can the Cruiser." OSP is partnering with Sparkle Market and the Macali's Giant Eagle in Niles for the event Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. OSP says each food item that is donated to fill a patrol car will be given to Niles Community Services for distribution to families in need in the Niles, Mineral Ridge, McDonald and Weathersfield Township areas.
