That's what Noble told the Town Council on Monday when it voted 6-0 to accept a $29.66 property tax rate per $1,000 of valuation as part of the town's tax commitment for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

    The elderly hiker rescued after 72 hours lost in Baxter State Park was released from Millinocket Regional Hospital on Tuesday and is headed home, a hospital spokesman said. Virginia resident John Lyon "had a very restful day yesterday and regained much of his strength," hospital CEO Robert Patterson said in a statement on Tuesday.
