    The Milford Education Foundation will hold its third Chair-ity Auction on Friday, June 22. There will be a kickoff event on Wednesday, May 16, at Milford Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Ave., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. At the kickoff event, 14 Adirondack chairs that were built by Milford Public School students and decorated by youth groups will be unveiled. The youth groups that are engaged in painting the chairs include: Both Foran and Law's Interact clubs, a group from the Academy, West Shore Middle School's Wave, Foran's Natural Helpers, the YMCA, Harborside Middle School's STEAM, Law's AP art classes, the Boys and Girls Club, East Shore Middle School, and Camp Happiness.

    With a lease in hand, a contractor received unanimous Planning and Zoning Board special permit and site plan approval on Feb. 20 to allow an apartment in a rear carriage house at 87 Golden Hill Street. The board approved the site plan and granted a special permit at its Dec. 5 meeting to allow the use of the 3,685-square-foot house constructed in 1880 as a three-family building.

    This house at 67 Prospect Street would be razed, and 44 apartments built on the property, according to plans filed with the Milford Planning and Zoning office. Two high-density apartment complexes intended to replace single-family homes, in one case an historic Milford home tied to the city's founder, received unanimous approval at the Dec. 20 Inland Wetlands Agency meeting and will go before the Planning and Zoning Board at a future date that has not been set.
