    A 29-year-old Cedarburg woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and two warrants after the car she was in ran out of gas in the 9900 block of West Mequon Road at 4:32 p.m. April 29. The woman said she was a recovering drug user and had track marks on her hands. In her purse were needles, a cooker with residue, a crack pipe, foil squares, tourniquets and other drug paraphernalia.

But they also like to celebrate each other's grand accomplishments , like the time a couple of years ago when Wolf and Millard took Wojcinski out to congratulate him on the Blue Dukes' first North Shore title in many years.

Schroeder Post 457 has found its way to what Post Commander Bill Prahl calls the "patio" outside the new location. "The funny thing is people thought it was stolen or just mysteriously missing," said Prahl.

    Not only did the Highlanders sweep three games in the North Shore Conference Tournament last week to take firm control of the league race, but the "Be the Match" bone marrow sign-up Navarre and his wife Molly sponsored at the tourney also succeeded in pulling in 27 registrants, almost all of them between the ages of 18 and 22. Navarre is a survivor of acute myeloid leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant as part of his treatments. He and his family have been very grateful to the other North Shore Conference schools for sponsoring the bone marrow "Be the Match" sign-up at each of the last several NSC tourneys.

    More than 50 acres of floodplain along the Little Menomonee River in Mequon will be preserved as open space to store spring flood waters and provide spawning habitat for fish, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District officials said Monday. The district's commission on Monday approved spending $290,000 to acquire 55 acres along the river, north of Mequon Road, from James Caughron.
