    A San Francisco attorney who filed a Public Records Act request on behalf of Mendocino County property owners who alleged their marijuana was raided for no reason by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office over the summer, received an answer earlier this month from county counsel who said the request was too "vague" for much of the information he was seeking. Joe Elford filed the request with the county in mid-October, trying to get some answers for homeowners who have said their medical marijuana gardens were cut and left to die despite being within the county mandated 25-plant limit.

    The Broadband Alliance of Mendocino County has released its findings from an online survey gauging the impact on Mendocino County from an August incident that left much of the coast without phone and Internet service for about 45 hours. On Sunday, Aug. 3 at 5:20 p.m., an accident on the Comptche-Ukiah Road caused a widespread communication outage, wiping out telephone, Internet, cell and 911 services for an estimated eight communities on the Mendocino County coastline, and destroying 400 feet of aerial AT&T fiber optic cable in the process, according to the report from the BAMC.

He's Eric Schramm, the mushroom man, owner of Mendocino Mushrooms, and he's been foraging, buying and selling thousands of pounds of mushrooms annually for more than 30 years.
