Numerous drivers called 911 to report that the driver of a 2011 Subaru Forester was driving recklessly southbound on Broadhollow Road, south of Spagnoli Drive, at approximately 6 p.m. The Subaru traveled onto a sidewalk and struck a fire hydrant, which broke loose and struck a 2016 Land Rover that was exiting a parking lot onto southbound Broadhollow Road.

Vincent Denino was driving a 2015 Mercedes Benz when his vehicle struck an embankment and overturned as he entered his driveway on Mary Court in Melville at approximately 3:40 p.m. Denino, 68, of Melville, was extricated from vehicle by Melville Fire Department and transported to Northwell Health Plainview Hospital by Melville Fire Department Ambulance where he was admitted in critical condition.

Jose Arroyo was driving a garbage truck in reverse on Weinmann Boulevard when the truck struck Jose Molina, who had been riding on the rear of the truck, at 6 a.m. Molina, 44, of Brentwood , was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
