    I 've seen some pretty creative methods when it comes to raising cash for deserving, local causes - Lions Club's Polar Bear Jump and Faith In Action's Dancing With the Medina Stars come to mind - but few around here surpass the level of physical sacrifice and overall weirdness that is the Faceplant 500. Sure, 5K runs and galas are great, albeit a dime-a-dozen, but how often do you see grownups ride plastic children's vehicles down Reagan Park's steep sledding hill with the hopes of crashes? What I like about the Faceplant crew is they are far from the norm, they provide easy entertainment to a broad segment of people and their charitable cause changes each year.
