    The SOU Foundation kicked off a fundraising campaign Wednesday night whose goal is ambitious and time sensitive: 500 donations in 100 hours to the school's Supporting Opportunities for Undergraduates Scholarship fund. The “Count Me In” campaign, which will wrap up at midnight Sunday, was launched Wednesday evening during the fifth annual president's dinner at the Inn at the Commons in Medford with the announcement of the first donation, a $100,000 gift from Jed and Celia Meese.

Police say Kelsey Ann Pawlyk was lodged in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday on attempted assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Special Olympics Oregon local programs that will participate include bowling teams from Curry, Douglas, Klamath and Josephine counties, the South Coast program and host Jackson County. The Ashland Kiwanis Club will send Sandy Kuykendall, Jeanne Walcher and Ron Parker as volunteers to help support the program and to serve as lane monitors.
