    Brookhaven Town officials plan to introduce a code change next month that would limit solar panel farms after proposals for solar arrays in Shoreham raised concerns, Supervisor Edward P. Romaine said. The new law would ban solar farms in the core preservation areas of the state-protected Pine Barrens and give the town board greater control over future solar proposals, Romaine said in an interview.... Brookhaven Town officials plan to introduce a code change next month that would limit solar panel farms after proposals for solar arrays in Shoreham raised concerns, Supervisor Edward P.     Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed two cars in the parking lot of a Pathmark on Thursday night in East Patchogue. Suffolk County police said the fire on Medford Avenue was reported just after 10:30 p.m. Fire officials said volunteers from the North Patchogue Fire Department responded to the scene.

At about 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 17, the woman, 45, was walking on Pinegrove Avenue in Medford when she was struck by what a witness described as a blue Honda Civic, possibly with Virginia license plates, police said.
