    An "intermittent" region-wide network outage wiped 911 service from at least parts of more than a dozen counties across North Texas Wednesday, affecting as many as 1.6 million people. A spokesperson for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, which includes 15 counties , said some 911 calls may go through during the outage, but anyone experiencing an emergency is urged to call the 10-digit number for their city or county until service is restored.
