    Feb 25, 2017 | Log Cabin Democrat

A special judge will make a ruling in a battery case against a former Faulkner County Sheriff's Office deputy by March 6. Special Judge Mark Derrick of White County said he wanted more time to review video footage captured during a high-speed police chase following former sheriff's deputy Eugene Watlington's bench trial on Friday. Watlington, 43, of Vilonia was charged with third-degree battery, a Class A misdemeanor that is punishable by up to one year in jail with a $2,500 fine, after video footage that was released following the May 4, 2015, high-speed chase from Mayflower to Conway showed him using excessive force on a suspect.
