    Both the father and son allegedly involved in a pay dispute that resulted in the shooting death of a Lumberton man are now charged with murder. Nathaniel Logan Locklear, 28, of 781 Treasure Drive, Maxton, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death on Friday evening of Ronnie Lee Sampson, 43, of Lumberton, according Robeson County Sheriff's Office.

    Four people from Robeson County were arrested Thursday and charged with throwing tobacco, marijuana and cell phones over the fence into the exercise yard at Bertie Correctional Institute.     A document filed in the case against people arrested as part of an alleged Maxton-based drug trafficking organization has revealed the sheer volume of evidence the U.S. attorney plans to bring against Mitchell Ray Locklear and his 11 co-defendants. In a motion to delay an upcoming arraignment for co-defendant Andrea True Brayboy, also know as Angie, her lawyer states that about 37,000 pages of evidence were handed over at the start of May. In the discovery process prosecutors must turn over all evidence they intend to use against a defendant.

Eric Michael Jordan, of Maxton, 28, was arrested June 5 and charged with five felony counts of breaking and/or entering, five felony counts of larceny after breaking and entering, three felony counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, three counts of misdemeanor larceny, a felony count of first-degree burglary, a felony count of attempted larceny, and a felony count of larceny of a firearm.

    Two highway patrolman who fired on a murder suspect have been cleared of any wrongdoing by Robeson County District Attorney Johnson Britt, who determined the South Carolina man killed himself. Jameke Casen Thomas, 22, of Bennettsville, S.C., fled from police on April 3 after becoming the prime suspect in his mother's shooting death earlier that day.

Ronnie Deese, 39, of Maxton last week pleaded guilty to charges of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
