    Iya Nemastil, a Japanese instructor at Marysville High School, and Daniel Sakamoto, a Bunsold Middle School Japanese teacher, chaperoned the students, ages 13 to 16. The trip began July 3 and concluded July 16. Each student paid $2,500 for the trip and participated in fundraisers to help cover the costs. The city of Yorii paid for the teachers' portion of the trip.
