Joseph Cormier, 64, has been charged with four counts of assault upon a police officer or firefighter for his alleged actions March 2. According to authorities, Cormier used a van to ram into three Concord patrol cars while trying to drive away from a traffic stop.

The lawsuit, filed in September by Alta Vista Solutions of Richmond, alleges that the California Department of Transportation broke its own rules when it passed up Alta Vista for the contract, awarding it instead to an international company, Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions.

    Three people were arrested on suspicion of robbery Tuesday after a heist at a bank in Alamo Plaza, a Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman said. Jesus Aguilar, 31, of Walnut Creek; Ryan Pritchett, 26, of Martinez; and Susan Martin, 40, of Auburn, all were arrested after deputies armed with license-plate information from a witness pulled them over near a Pleasant Hill freeway onramp shortly after the 4:08 p.m. dispatch call, spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
