    The Iowa State Patrol has identified Randolph Larry Papakee Jr., 41, Tama, as the victim of a car-pedestrian accident who died at Central Iowa Healthcare, Marshalltown, Friday night. The patrol said Papakee and a woman who was not identified in the report were crossing the U.S. 30 Expressway in front of the Meskwaki Travel Plaza, abbot five miles west of Toledo, at 7:51 p.m. The woman crossed the road and was not reported injured.

    Closing of two vehicle crossing on the Union Pacific Railroad route through Tama will be discussed further the Tama City Council decided Monday night, March 6. Kyle Nodegaard, manager of Industry and Public Projects for the UP, proposed in an email to City Clerk Judy Welch the railroad would pay the City of Tama $40,000 for each closing and the Iowa Department of Transportation would chip in an additional $7,500 per closing to make it a total of $95,000 to the city.
