    Three days after what authorities said they believe was a planned escape from a north Arkansas jail, a slaying suspect has still not been located, authorities said Monday. The Searcy County sheriff's office said Monday in a news release that Matthew Clayton Armstrong, 31, who was charged in the shooting death of Jessica Thornton in March, has not been captured.

    Voters in five counties of north-central Arkansas will head to the polls starting Tuesday in their third effort this year to pick a state representative. The first election, a special primary, in February sent Republican Donald Ragland to run unopposed in a special election last month to fill a vacancy in House District 83. Ragland was sworn in earlier this month to fill the remainder of the vacant term that expires in mid-January.

    James Kirk Watts, 43, of Marshall died after the road roller he was driving traveled off a Searcy County road and overturned, agency spokesman Danny Straessle said. According to Straessle, Watts was pronounced dead at the scene around noon.
