    Louisiana wildlife officers have booked a Marksville man on charges related to an investigation into the theft of money from the self-pay camping site on Spring Bayou Wildlife Management Area in Avoyelles Parish. Wildlife officials say in a news release that 19-year-old Barry Ray Laiche II was booked Friday on five counts of theft and 15 counts of violating rules and regulations on a WMA.

    The state Fire Marshal's office tells The Town Talk that four people died in the fire late Thursday - 32-year-old Stanley Charrier; his mother, 62-year-old Catherine Charrier; his 9-year-old son Carlin Charrier and his 12-year-old stepdaughter Emily Graham Monique Charrier, Stanley's wife and the children's mother, was working at the Paragon Casino Resort at the time. The fire marshal's office, which is investigating, says three bodies were found together, while a fourth was separated.

    Authorities say a 61-year-old Pineville man died when his motorcycle was struck by a car in Avoyelles Parish. Master Trooper Scott Moreau says a car driven by 50-year-old David C. O'Quinn, of Marksville, pulled from a side road in the path of Paul McKeithen's motorcycle.

    State police say they've arrested the chief of the Tunica-Biloxi Indian tribe in Marksville as the result of a drug investigation. A news release from state police says Tuesday's arrest of 36-year-old Joey P. Barbry of Mansura, resulted from a tip that state troopers received in September.
