    As watershed advocates, my group, the Gallinas Watershed Council, fully supported and applauded the Board of Supervisors' purchase of the San Geronimo Golf Course for restoration purposes. For me, one of the most remarkable testimonies at the public hearing was that of a young firefighter, who spoke on how healthy watersheds naturally cool and slow the spread of fires - unlike golf courses, highways or other fire breaks.
