    Marietta City Council heard from multiple supervisors and salaried employees Monday as the legislators considered freezing wages and longevity pay, and increasing all city employees' insurance premiums. Council plans to vote on the legislative changes Wednesday during a special meeting so that payroll aligns with this year's budget passed Jan. 1. "Everyone is subject to a certain budget premise, so if there is a freeze, everyone paid by the city of Marietta is subject to a freeze," The meeting was held following a tense first reading of two ordinances last week in Council which introduced the freezes and removal of longevity as a stop-gap measure to ensure the city is not broke by the middle of the year.
