    A traffic stop conducted by Holmes County Sheriff's Deputies near the Caryville Campsite area on Sunday resulted in the seizure of approximately 40 pounds of marijuana. According to reports, a deputy attempted to stop a Chevy pickup truck that turned onto Blue Springs Road around 2:15 a.m. The truck's driver, later identified as Colton Daniels of Marianna, immediately shut off the vehicle's headlights and quickly turned onto Beaver Street in "attempt to hide from the deputy."

    Waste Management has applied for a permit to sink a well more than 4,000 feet into the ground in order to dispose of water that leaches from the material in Springhill Landfill near Campbellton. Currently, the company collects that wastewater into holding tanks, then takes it by tanker truck it to wastewater treatment facilities in Sneads, Marianna and Okaloosa County for treatment and release to sprayfields or other endpoints.

Troopers stopped a black Mercedes for a speeding violation. The driver would later identified as Bryan Todd Scott, 49, of Cottondale, and the passenger was identified as Stephanie Ann-Elisabeth Rossner, 31, of Marianna Upon entering the driver's license of the driver into Florida Crime Information Center database, the Scott's license came back suspended.
