    A roofer working on an Ocean Avenue house, here, fell approximately 30 feet Monday morning and was transported via helicopter to the hospital. According to Police Chief Stacy Ferris, Allan Guttierez, 28, fell around 30 feet, landed on his feet and then fell onto his back.

    The final leg of the Route 35 reconstruction project, here, that was scheduled to take place Friday night, April 17, and was postponed until Monday, April 20, was delayed again due to weather, and is expected to take place Tuesday night instead, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation [NJDOT]. Stephen Schapiro, NJDOT spokesperson, said the full closure of Route 35 in both directions at Osborne Avenue in Bay Head through Princeton Avenue in Mantoloking will occur between 9 p.m. April 21 until 6 a.m. April 22 for the final paving of the road.

    After years of reconstruction on the Hurricane Sandy-ravaged Route 35 that runs through Bay Head and Mantoloking, the final coating of asphalt is scheduled to be laid down tonight, completing the project that began in the summer of 2013. Route 35, which is the backbone of the Barnegat Peninsula, was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and is being completely rebuilt by the New Jersey Department of Transportation [DOT].

    The New Jersey Department of Transportation [NJDOT] announced on Friday afternoon that the final paving for Route 35 and some side streets in Bay Head and Mantoloking is scheduled for next week as this piece of the Route 35 reconstruction nears completion. NJDOT's contractor, Agate Construction Company, Inc., is scheduled to pave Downer Street, Lyman Street, Goetze Street and Mount Street throughout next week.

    Much of the Jersey Shore was buried beneath 10 to 14 inches of snow between a pair of winter storms that battered the area over the weekend and early this week, causing local towns to kick into cleanup mode and schools to close their doors once again. Saturday night's storm, which was accompanied by winds of up to 25 miles per hour, dumped three to six inches of snow on towns in the area, while the storm early Tuesday morning saw snowfall totals of five to seven inches, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Tyler Roys.
