    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer [ACE] announced the next step in the controversial dune project, which seeks to build a continuous 14-mile berm system along the northern Ocean County peninsula. According to the Army Corps, on Jan. 10 a contract was awarded to Weeks Marine Inc., of Cranford, for $92 million to construct a dune that is planned to run from the Manasquan Inlet to Barnegat Inlet.
