    What began as a report of a trespasser on private property late Saturday afternoon resulted in the seizure of the largest amount of marijuana in Johnston County history, the shutdown of a major drug-trafficking operation and the arrest of three individuals, according to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office. Johnston County Sheriff Jon Smith said his office received a call from Game Warden Curtis Latham at approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday stating that a deer hunter had observed a Hispanic male carrying a bucket of water in a remote ranch area northeast of Mannsville and reported it to the warden.

    Johnston County authorities say three men were arrested after investigators found more than one ton of marijuana growing at a ranch near Mannsville. Sheriff Jon Smith told KXII that trespassers on the property called authorities about the operation and deputies arrived Saturday to find four men at a campsite.
