    Authorities say a Louisiana sheriff's deputy found a missing Texas girl during a traffic stop. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release that a deputy stopped a car on Friday near Mandeville because it was traveling with its high beams on.

    A St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury has issued first degree rape charges against 58-year-old Jerry J. Kan. Kan was arrested in August when an employee of Beau Provence Memory Care Assisted Living notified Mandeville Police about possible sexual misconduct between Kan and a 78-year-old resident.

    The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, in a news release, said the body of 67-year-old George A. Charrier, of Pontchatoula, was pulled from the lake about 2:15 p.m. Friday. Charrier's body was found about nine miles from the north shore of Mandeville.

"Mandeville Police arrested 55 year old Julie Henry of Mandeville, LA for failure to report abuse of adults and obstruction of justice," police said in a statement.

    The National Weather Service has advised that a rare 'high risk' of flooding advisory is in place for parts of the northshore, mostly to the areas from Covington and Mandeville to the west with areas around rivers particularly vulnerable. WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Carl Arredondo said that many of the weather models vary on where the hardest hit areas will be, but most indicated areas west and north of the New Orleans metro area.

Media outlets report project manager Mike Barham says the company plans to begin moving a 100-foot-tall drilling rig onto the site on June 29. Barham says once the rig is in place, the drilling is expected to last about 30 days.
