Michael Husband, the Lambda Chi Alpha Housing Corporation president, said they have looked for available housing off campus for about three years, since there was no room available room on Greek Circle One or Two.

    Deputies from the Lubbock Sheriff's Office are searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting that happened at Tech Inn on Monday night. A SWAT team was called in to search the rooms for anyone injured or anyone with a gun, but found nothing.

The Amarillo Fire Department says 30-year-old Roper Copelin and another employee, Keath Garrison, were at the new Xcel energy building in downtown working construction when the two drilled into an electrical box.

    A 55-year-old Lubbock man, Danny Ray Caudill, was sentenced Friday morning by Senior U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings to 120 months in federal prison, following his guilty plea in September 2016 to one count of attempted enticement of a minor, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas. According to documents filed in the case, from approximately June 26 through July 20, 2016, Caudill used Facebook messaging to communicate with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, who was, in fact, an undercover officer.
