    A 58-year-old homeless man accused of impersonating a police officer to obtain information about a license plate pleaded guilty on Thursday to a lesser charge. Eliseo Benites, who has been held at the Lubbock County Detention Center since his April 18 arrest, pleaded guilty on Thursday to a state jail felony count of attempted impersonation of a public servant in exchange for a six-month jail sentence.
