The initial vote count as of 8 p.m. shows that 6,326 district residents voted "Yes" on Measure GG, compared to 2,662 voting no on the measure.

The Gatos girls had to fight through overtime to beat Los Altos 14-11, then backed that up with a hard-earned 9-5 win over Gunn to win the title in last weekend's league tournament, helping the Wildcats secure the championship in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.
