    The Boulder County District Attorney's Office alleges that Dynel Lane spent about an hour inside her Longmont residence discussing various subjects with Michelle Wilkins - including Wilkins'pregnancy - before luring her down to the basement, attacking her with a lava lamp and cutting her baby from her womb. A brief filed in Boulder District Court on Thursday in advance of next week's preliminary hearing in the case said that Lane first attacked Wilkins on March 18 with her hands before she broke a lava lamp over Wilkins' head.

Losing out - for the second year in a row, apparently - is a banded female osprey that was the third adult bird to show up at the nest at the eastern edge of the Fairgrounds' Cattail Pond, which sits northwest of Hover Street and Nelson Road.
