    The Town of Lochbuie will unveil its new Town Hall building with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 703 Weld County Road 37. Mayor Michael Mahoney, along with Town Board of Trustee members, will officially open the 9,000 square feet building, which will house staff and police department offices, along with a multi-purpose room for meetings, court hearings and events. The new Town Hall building uses energy efficient and environmentally conscious technology, earning accolades by the industry group Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

    Lochbuie voters were expected to vote down new funding for the school district and against a measure to allow recreational and medical marijuana sales in certain areas of the city, with 56.66 percent of ballots counted from all registered voters in Weld County. Lochbuie voters also looked like they would approve a measure to allow residents to keep six backyard chickens, ducks, pigeons or doves; a measure to allow the city to sell an old police building; and a mill tax levy override to help fund the Lochbuie Fire Department.
