    Bonnie Smith, 67, was thrilled when she stopped by the Livingston, La., animal shelter on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, and found Betsy, the cat that always slept at the foot of her mother-in-law's bed before she died in July at age 103. One of Smith's tenants had rescued the cat from floodwaters two weeks ago but had to leave it at a shelter in a Denham Springs church when they were evacuated.
