Littlefield police were called to the 900 block of West 4th Street after it was reported a man was armed with a knife was assaulting a woman while trying to take her car, according to a Littlefield PD news release.

    Two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on U.S. Highway 84 in Lamb County on July 6. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 50-year-old Darrell Johnson of Littlefield and 37-year-old Jessica Comer of Lubbock were traveling east in a vehicle when it overcorrected after a lane change. The car then went into the center median of the highway, where it overturned.

The Bailey-New Amherst-Lamb 115-kilovolt Transmission Line Project calls for 40 to 50 miles of new 115-kilovolt transmission line between the existing Bailey County Substation, located near Muleshoe, Texas, and the existing Lamb County Substation located near Littlefield, Texas.

    Arnoldo Mendoza Lepez, 45, of Littlefield, Texas, was sentenced this morning before Senior U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings to 405 months, nearly 34 years, in federal prison following his guilty plea to his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas. A co-defendant, Joseph Raymond Jaramillo, Jr., 30, also of Littlefield, Texas, was sentenced last week to 365 months, just over 30 years, in federal prison following his guilty plea to his role in the same conspiracy.
