Please explain to me how shooting a deer in early October that isn't bred yet is different from shooting one five weeks later that is bred? That is the equivalent of saying if you cut the blossom off the apple tree, before it becomes an apple, you'll still be able to make a pie later! 4. Eliminate destroy permits that all the large farms get.

    A resolution that will be introduced at Monday's St. Lawrence County finance committee meeting seeks to persuade the Department of Environmental Conservation to change the rules on harvesting does during the muzzleloading seasons that bookend rifle hunting season in the north country. According to the resolution being presented by St. Lawrence County Legislator Donald J. Hooper, R-Ogdensburg, and cosponsored by Legislator David W. Forsythe, R-Lisbon, the DEC has identified a need to increase the deer herd in Region 6, Wildlife Management Unit 6A, for the past two years.
