    A Linton man was sentenced to six years in prison, with one year suspended, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing the death of 51-year-old Phillip Reynold. After a night of drinking at a party in Worthington, then 20-year-old Todd Bennett caused a high-speed crash involving three vehicles on State Road 54, just east of County Road 800 West between Switz City and Linton early on January 22. Police say that Bennett was traveling at more than 95 mph when he rear-ended a car driven by 48-year-old Lisa Schaffer and then struck a truck head-on, killing Reynolds.

The Greene County Daily World reports that the Linton Fire Department responded to the call at 5:17 a.m. The fire then spread to the house owned by Bruce and Debbie Moore at 269 W. Vincennes St. The fire destroyed the home.
