    One hundred years ago, in the little village of Lindstrom, Minn., Charles A. Victor printed his first newspaper in the local blacksmith shop, according to "Lindstrom on the Lake," compiled by the Lindstrom Centennial Committee in 1994. Since most of the village residents were of Swedish ancestry, the newspaper was in the Swedish language.

A resident of Chisago City since 1999, Reed came in with some fire training and service experience having volunteered with his hometown department in Linwood, starting at age 18. He is a 1992 graduate of Forest Lake High School.

Loss happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 March 9 Lakes Area Police responded to a vehicle theft from the lot at Chisago Lakes Middle School, reported about 1:50 p.m. The vehicle and suspect were stopped near Pioneer Road and Hwy.

    The Lindstrom City Council at its regular meeting last week agreed to allow staff to initiate drafting an agreement for purchasing the old Panel One- Engineered Wall industrial site, that's been vacant for years a block south of city hall. The city council heard a Phase One review of the property found potential contamination in the form of liquids in abandoned barrels, an outdoor elevated fuel tank and a floor drain that contains some suspect material.

    Two metro-area fishermen were rescued Saturday March 12, as ice cover on Little Lake, near Center City, gave way around them and they discovered they were unable to return to shore. One man used a cell phone, alerting authorities of the situation and sheriff's 9-1-1 dispatch sent Lindstrom Fire Department's airboat.
