    A Lindsay woman has filed a claim for damages against the city and county of Tulare, alleging that she was falsely arrested and imprisoned after a traffic stop by a Tulare police officer in May. The claim, which is often a precursor to a legal suit, states Maria Guadalupe Rodelo sustained economic, punitive and statutory damages and also asks the defendants to pay her legal fees. it was filed on her behalf by the Bakersfield law firm of Chain, Cohn and Stiles.

    A Lindsay man who served as his own lawyer has been found guilty of murder and faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, the Tulare County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday. Frank Vasquez, 35, who has two prior prison terms and a gang assault on his record, was found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder with the special allegation of robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and other charges.

    A man who died after he drove his truck into oncoming traffic in Lindsay has been identified as Alejandro Ibarra, 25, of Lindsay, the Tulare County Coroner's Office said Tuesday. Ibarra was driving south in a full-size pickup when he crossed into the northbound lane, sideswiped a minivan with six passengers and struck a smaller pickup.
