Durity was serving as chairman of the MCSW Board, which oversees the Rockport transfer station used by the towns of Camden, Rockport, Lincolnville and Hope. He was appointed by the Lincolnville Board of Selectmen to a three-year term, ending in June 2017.

    Retail sales figures released by the Maine Bureau of Revenue Services show that businesses from Lincolnville to Port Clyde generated $193 million in taxable sales from June 1 through Aug. 31. The $193 million in sales set a record for those three main summer months and was an increase of 7.5 percent for the same stretch in 2015. The 2016 sales are also a whopping 42 percent more than consumers spent in the same three months of 2009, during the depth of the Great Recession.
