A Kids Orchard area featured fun games and activities for the little ones, and a special section called "Ag City" celebrated Lincoln County's rich agricultural heritage.

    A former daycare worker is accused of child abuse after allegedly pulling the hair of a toddler she was supposed to be watching. The mother of an 18-month-old child at Mini Academy Daycare Center in Lincoln County told deputies she received a call from the facility on March 23 advising that another child pulled her daughter's hair hard enough to rip some out.

    Deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute at a home on the 1800 block of Tomes Road in Lincoln County around 3:22 p.m. They arrived to find the man lying in the front yard, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The man was taken by Lincoln County EMS to Carolinas Healthcare System in Lincolnton with what detectives are calling "very life-threatening injuries."

    Investigators with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office joined the search for a man who has been missing for more than a week. Richard Keith Perdue was last seen leaving Boger City Rest Home on Little Valley Lane in Lincoln County around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22. With other measures exhausted in the search, searchers were back on the scene Wednesday, this time with Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies and detectives, the Lincoln County Special Operations Land Search Team and a drone operator from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.
