    The St. Mary's County Planning Commission gave approval Monday to a new location for Lexington Park Ford - which would move the dealership from Great Mills Road to farther north on Route 235 in California. The plan for a 45,648-square-foot car dealership got approval on 21 mostly wooded acres on the southbound side of Route 235 between Mercedes Drive and San Souci Plaza.

Amy Thompson, owner of Lola Belle Co., a home design and furniture store in Leonardtown, got its big break last spring when a social media campaign asked for recommendations for home renovators to work on the new home of Iyanla Vanzant, star of the reality show “Iyanla Fix My Life!” Vanzant, a friend of Winfrey's, recently acquired her own home, and Lola Belle was among the businesses picked to help with a surprise renovation, Thompson said.
