    A 2.7-magnitude earthquake rattled a few windows Thursday afternoon in the Lenoir City area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake, centered about 5.6 miles north northwest of the Loudon County town, was recorded at 4:08 p.m. A 2.3-magnitude temblor was registered May 20 in the Seymour area.

    According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Daniel Hinson from Murfreesboro was driving an empty tanker truck on eastbound I-40 near Lenoir City when his truck crashed at mile marker 365 around 2:00 a.m. According to troopers, the truck went off the right side of the road and hit a guard rail before it crashed into a number of trees.
