    A Blount County deputy resigned earlier this year as administrators were tightening the screws on an investigation into her relationship with an on-again, off-again inmate at the Blount County jail, The Daily Times has learned through a recent public records request. Blount County Sheriff's Office Deputy Lisa Hoard resigned May 2, several weeks after chatter in the jail romantically linked the 18-year BCSO veteran and jail investigator with a convicted felon - one who's spent a number of years in and out of the facility thanks to a lengthy criminal history dating back over a decade.

Benton resident Rubyanne Miller, the mother of 13-year-old Destany Rosemarie Vires, is suing the estate of Darryl Kenneth Brewer, who reportedly caused the fatal crash in Loudon County which killed Vires.
