    Lebanon County has lost 1.6 percent of its jobs since August 2014 despite a rapidly expanding health care sector and steady manufacturing numbers, according to a recent analysis of federal jobs data. "That's the first time I've ever seen that in Lebanon County," said report author Charles Blankenship, director of the Applied Government Studies Center and former president of the Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corp. Both Blankenship and current county economic leaders said they were puzzled by the loss of government jobs, particularly since the Lebanon VA Medical Center has opened a new surgery center and a new outpatient center.
