"The Soul of Broadway" started as an idea from African American musical theater performers who wanted to create a show that both allowed them to perform in material that showed their strengths and experiences. The brainchildren and co-founders of "The Soul of Broadway" are Chanel Bragg and Mitchell Vantrease, who began the show in Phoenix, Arizona.

Phillip Hodge, an archaeologist with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, will give a presentation on "TDOT Archaeological Investigations in Rutherford County" at the meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at the Heritage center of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro.

    Greg Armstrong, a native of Murfreesboro, was just named to the 2015 United States National 24-Hour Running Team that will compete in the IAU World Championship in Turin, Italy, on April 11. Last July the ultra-marathoner captured first place in the Vol State 500-K , an event that saw him run through five states, as he completed the course in three days, 17 hours and 48 minutes. Armstrong, who teaches and coaches cross-country coach at Friendship Christian School, ran 145 miles in 24 hours in September during the Run Around the World event in Lebanon and that was good enough to qualify him for one of the six spots on the American men's team.
