    Convicted embezzler Christine Kelly Kelsay was back in Mendocino County Superior Court Tuesday morning after being handed new felony charges of perjury and creating false financial declarations for use in family law court proceedings. Mendocino County District Attorney David Eyster filed the charges Monday against Kelsay, who was sentenced in May to four years in the county jail and one-year of supervised probation for stealing approximately $500,000 from Geigers Long Valley Market in Laytonville.

According to the MCSO, the eradications conducted in and around Laytonville, Leggett and Dos Rios resulted in 40,397 marijuana plants being removed, 14 people being arrested, seven firearms being seized and 37 cases of environmental damage being discovered that include illegal water diversions and stream pollution as well as solid waste violations.

    A multi-agency team eradicating illegal marijuana grows in the northern section of Mendocino County this week arrested two more suspects and removed 13,074 more plants Wednesday, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office reported. According to the MCSO, the group comprised of MCSO deputies, Fish and Wildlife wardens, Bureau of Land Management rangers, members of the National Guard Counter Drug Team, Cal Fire prevention officers and members of the Mendocino County Major Crimes Task Force first served a search warrant July 20 at a property in the 52200 block of North Highway 101 in Laytonville at 7 a.m. There they reportedly found Timothy Trygg, 48, of San Francisco, and Samuel Kim, 36, of Laytonville, as well as 2,137 marijuana plants.
